When evaluating the performance of an AMD processor versus an Intel processor with the same speed rating, the cache size and additional features of the processors play a crucial role. The cache is a small amount of very fast memory located on the processor itself, which stores frequently accessed data and instructions to enhance processing speed. A larger cache can significantly improve performance during data-intensive tasks, as it allows for quicker access to necessary information without needing to retrieve it from the main memory (RAM).

In addition to cache size, other features such as integrated graphics capabilities, thermal design power (TDP), and support for specific instruction sets or technologies (like AMD's Precision Boost or Intel's Turbo Boost) also affect overall performance. These features can lead to different real-world experiences in different applications, even when the processors are rated at the same speed.

While the type of memory used, pricing, and motherboard brand might affect system performance to some extent, they do not compare in significance to how the inherent architectural differences and features of the processors themselves impact their efficiency and speed in executing tasks.
